The Boat House

Our first fully circular privately owned building as a product

The Boat House

is the first complete building, designed, manufactured, and built using the Aeternum circular building system. It is located on the shore of Lake Zurich and it is owned by a private person.

Complete assembly

It consists of a series of standardized components designed to be assembled, used, and reused in different configurations over multiple lifecycles. The elements were offsite manufactured and assembled on-site.

facade

The facade

is ventilated and made using larch a timber that lasts longer exposed to the elements. The cladding is easily removable for maintenance and replacements of laths.

indoor

Materials

The internal walls are made of CLT, and the external walls are timber frame structures, infilled with insulation and covered with CLT panels. The ceilings are made as well using CLT panels.

Off grid

The building is not connected to the electricity network. The S-W facade is covered by 13 PV panels which together with the lead gel batteries cover the entire need for electricity.
